Foodie Moments in KL China Town - Coffee Amo [Part 1]

It's a good day, good timing to spend a few hours exploring the historical scenes with a friend. It was long time, long long time I've never been to the China town in the city center.

First steps in the place, an eye catching Hindu temple was in front of us. At the same time, we said:"O, take photo?". The temple looks historical and nicely structured.

I almost forget to talk about the main purpose that pulled me to this walk, it's the 3D coffee art at Coffee Amo @ Jalan Sultan. A cafe full of feelings from the corridor, entrance to the cafe itself, nevertheless the coffee art is so lovely!

Walking up through the looking old stairway, emptiness in my mind......
Here you go the coffee that I was looking forward to >>

Ocean 11 - Tangerine flavored latte

Sweet 16 - Macadamia flavored latte

The cafe's ambiance is cozy and it's a good place for catching up with friends, having a cup of coffee, cakes etc.

After coffee, full energy was restored. We walked around the area, enjoying the historical scenes.

I was thinking of the past time stories when I spent my days in these streets and buildings for some days in China town.

Lemon Diet (Edited) - Day 5

This Sunday's principle is try my best not to let Sunday ruin the plan.

Breakfast - Cornflakes with raisin & almond nuts in soya milk. Warm lemon water.

Went out for movie (Transformers), movie is quite good 3.5★. It was a 3 hours movie, I drank a tin of wonda premium coffee latte. One comment about this movie is it doesn't really a theme song that interests me.

After movie, it was 2:30pm. Went Old Town for meal.

Lunch - 2 to 3 bites of Ipoh Hor Fun with some vegetables and a cup of iced lemon tea.

Went to mum's house today My tummy felt empty as I ate too
little just now. So, I just dig around and see what I've got, some pineapples with crackers. I also added apple vinegar and plum powder into it. O sourness......

Dinner was a big meal, steamed fish, roast duck, stir fried vegetables, claypot tofu and clam soup.

Venue: Yee Sang Fatt Restaurant, Air Panas Setapak.

As usual, I only ate a very small portion of each dish except a lot of vegetables, NO rice. Just giving it a snapshot as it's too painful! Fattening and regret... :P. Of course, it's too delicious to be forgotten.

I didn't really compare the meals against the original plan as it's out of the way.

At the end of today, the most important principle for me is food does not exceed 1200cal.

Fight again tomorrow!

Lemon Diet (Edited) - Day 4

A Saturday morning is the starting of  challenges of diet. How much we think about control, it will really go out of the track. Weekend outings are not avoidable. There are major editions in my lunch and dinner today.

Daily routine - 3 to 5 glasses of lemon water.

Jer was so noisy and requesting for a dim sum breakfast, that really raise my appetite, I hope it didn't spoil my Saturday meals plan.

Finally I brought him to pack some dim sum for his breakfast, while I am still having mine. The dim sum's "enchanted fragrance" made me felt a little dizzy at once. Haha!

Breakfast - Cornflakes with some almonds in soya milk.

Back to the reality, I gotta follow my menu as much as possible and unexpectedly, the cornflakes combination  with soya was really delicious!

On another version, I may burst my calories if I am having Jer's version of breakfast- chu cheong fun with prawn, steamed pork rib and fish balls. Phew......

Lunch - Eat out at Fish valley, Semenyih. Had bites of steamed fish, spinach soup, omelette with mushroom and few squid rings.

Tips: Squid ring
Good - Low in saturated fat and sodium, good source of zinc, vitamin B12 etc.
Bad - High in cholesterol.

I love to eat squid all the time, hence I always have cholesterol issue last time. However, since diet, this is the first time I am having it.

As per original plan, lunch should be omelette with grated cheese, banana and strawberries.

Snack - Frozen dragon fruits and green apple with lemon juice.

Dinner - Went out for dinner with family, browsed around the hawkers stalls and finally found the best choices of food.

White chicken breast, tauge and teh kosong ice.

Ordered teh kosong ice, simply because I was missing the teh's texture hehe, it's tasteless anyway, not as good as it looks.

The original dinner should be prawn in salsa, salad and apple.

Tips:
- Chicken breast is the best part of the chicken with lowest calorie and fat, highest in protein, see link: http://www.nationalchickencouncil.org/chicken-the-preferred-protein-for-your-health-and-budget/the-nutritional-value-of-chicken/
- You will be able to check out the nutrients comparison for the chicken parts.

- Always remember not to eat the chicken skin as it's fattening, I am already have this habit of not eating chicken skin in recent years except sometimes for fried chicken which it's crunchiness is irresistible.

As I was monitoring my diet with My FitnessPal, I've got an idea on sharing the teh's calories info, which you may be interested:

teh tarik - 140cal
teh tarik kurang manis - 83cal
teh ice - 130cal
teh O - 83cal
teh O ice - 130cal
teh O ice limau - 140cal
teh O kosong - 0cal
*teh kosong limau (no milk & sugar) - 0cal
(*could not find this in FitnessPal, hence I checked and created it)
teh C - 175cal
tec C kosong - 80cal
teh halia - 74cal
teh halia with milk - 120cal

Now, I am enjoying my Saturday night again......listening to my new favorite song from IU (My old story).

Good night!

Forgot Day No? of My Diet Diary

I think I have started to go on diet plan days ago, may be a week? or more than that......

Well, I am happy that my diet is still under control except some weekend eating bonanza :)

I always pay more attention on Monday's diet menu as I believe a good starting on Monday will make the whole week beautiful.

This morning, I had my own home sweet home breakfast.

Butter oatmeal breads, some refreshing cucumbers and tomatoes slices with grilled mushroom + onion. Paired with a cup of 0% fat yogurt drink.

Too much? Not really, I was preparing myself for a walk. Hehe.

A walk was to groceries shopping in this sense, and shopping was done within 2 hours with my groceries kaki in NSK. I must say that seeing colors in the morning will brighten the day. Mood was good too.

During lunch, I had chance to taste this delicious typical Thai style spicy fish lettuce wrap with noodles, prepared by Aunt Chen, how lucky! I was told that the name of it in Thai is "miao badu".

Own recipe chili sauce + fish + noodles + fresh parsley, wrapped with super fresh lettuce.

Wow! After eating, the freshness and fish's taste was lingering in my mouth, I am gonna miss it!

Dinner is always my hopeful meal with highest calories. I wrap up the night with all of my favorite dishes.

Stir fried mixed veggies, tofu soup with mixed ingredients and sardine in tomatoes.

Today, I watched the movie "Sex and the City 2" as recommended by petpetkia, it is a good movie, in my favorite list now. :). Just can't resist to it's scenes of luxury, fashion, travel, friendship....the story line is good too.

It started with my favorite song "Empire State of Mind" by JayZ & Alicia Keys, totally attracted me from the beginning.

It is then the hotel in the girls' trip in this movie that made me "wow"! Love it so much! Then, I went to search for it and came to know that the shoot was taken place in Morocco. Then hotel name is Taj Palace Marrakech, superb hotel that I would want to put in the "to go" list.

Abu Dhabi; Morocco... I'll travel to you in my dream......

Tosbeheena ‘ala khair تصبح/ تصبحين على خير

Good night!

Sunday is my tummy's Holiday

Today is Sunday, my tummy's holiday! No guilty feeling but had bonus meals, yeah!!

Breakfast - Bonus session has started, I made cheese oatmeal bread, some blueberries, added a piece of kit kat chocolate + yogurt drink. O chocolate?! I am definitely not chocolate fancy, this is like the 2nd time of this year.

Lunch - Another round of Father's day meal at Semenyih Fish Valley Restaurant, rueful but delicious.

I ate some bites of steamed fish, marmite chicken, rice, my favorite seafood clear tomyam soup, green dragon vegetables, coconut juice. Wow, spicy + fresh cold coconut juice were just perfect match!

Snack time was movie time. Went to watch Maleficent, a good movie! I specially like Angelina Jolie's make-over and style, evil looking fairy with kind heart. Special highlight is the movie themed song - Once Upon a Dream, like it! The movie is worth the ticket, worth my tummy's quota for the popcorn + hot Nescafe. Hehe

It was suppose to be a fattening dinner, but I tried to reduced the fattening level :P, made the boiled lettuce as main dish, ate some kungfu mee hoon, ended up with a cup of chrysanthemum ginseng tea.

I feel very satisfy today, think I am quite well prepared for further fighting tomorrow.

Ate too much!

Today I failed my calories marks! Too much carbs but at the same time achieved my protein and vitamin C goals. This is called give and take? :)

I am happy for my day as it is a disciplined day except for the scrumptious dinner.

Breakfast - Tuna light mayo oatmeal bread. Simple and delicious.

Lunch - Tuna ceaser salad with a hard bolied egg.

Snack - Mango orange juice, good choice full of vitamin C.

Dinner - Eat out for Father's day at 湖村 restaurant Air Panas, Setapak. Some bites of steam fish, stir fried vegetables, stew pork (only a piece of lean meat), chicken wing (1pc, didn't eat fries) and few spoons of white rice. Tummy full!
