Foodies Moments in KL China Town - Old China Cafe [Part 2]

Continue to walk across and along the Petaling Street, looking up and around the colorful stuff and decorations......

Until today, these 2 beverage stalls (longan drinks, soya drinks), which are situated in the center of the streets are still my favorite. However, I didn't drink today as I was too full.

While browsing around some old shops with nice stuff, we discovered this wall painting, apparently by local artist. Meaningful story of missing love...

It's lunch time. Saw this restaurant - Old China Cafe @ Jalan Balai Polis, craving for Nyonya food. Music was playing in the restaurant, felt like dining in the old times......

The Entrance of Old China Cafe

Nice decorations in the cafe

Foodie time! ~ Nyonya Laksa, Nyonya Fried Rice, Pie Tee, Bubur Cha Cha

A nice cafe with good food and service, and quite a number of tourists visits also.

It was a satisfying day, visited some places of thinking about a long while ago and foodies mission accomplished! Yay!!

Foodie Moments in KL China Town - Coffee Amo [Part 1]

It's a good day, good timing to spend a few hours exploring the historical scenes with a friend. It was long time, long long time I've never been to the China town in the city center.

First steps in the place, an eye catching Hindu temple was in front of us. At the same time, we said:"O, take photo?". The temple looks historical and nicely structured.

I almost forget to talk about the main purpose that pulled me to this walk, it's the 3D coffee art at Coffee Amo @ Jalan Sultan. A cafe full of feelings from the corridor, entrance to the cafe itself, nevertheless the coffee art is so lovely!

Walking up through the looking old stairway, emptiness in my mind......
Here you go the coffee that I was looking forward to >>

Ocean 11 - Tangerine flavored latte

Sweet 16 - Macadamia flavored latte

The cafe's ambiance is cozy and it's a good place for catching up with friends, having a cup of coffee, cakes etc.

After coffee, full energy was restored. We walked around the area, enjoying the historical scenes.

I was thinking of the past time stories when I spent my days in these streets and buildings for some days in China town.

My Last 30 Days Food Cravings - Banana Leaf Rice

There was an on-going "diet campaign" for me over the last 30 days. The most difficult challenge of all is not following the diet menu but the resistance to my favorite food cravings.

After that, I am having a little while of break and happily I am going to enjoy some of the food.

One of the food that I miss is no doubt the Indian banana leaf rice. I went with +petpetkia chen to "open feast":)

Restaurant: Sri Desa Curry House, Taman Desa
Food: 3.5 (Food is good, very presentable)
Ambiance: 4
Cleanliness: 4 (very clean, can be seen from entrance until the food counter)
Service: 4.5 (polite & attentive staff)
(The rating is based on full points of 5, only my personal rating)

I must say it was like a grand opening of my feast after days of diet, thank you petpetkia as my feast friend hehe. It cost us about RM16 each person for having a full set of banana leaf rice, meat and drinks. By the way, it is a very good time spending meal, enjoy so much to eat while chatting with friend.

Indian cuisine is really so much more to explore. Looking forward to the next......http://my.openrice.com/restaurant/article/detail.htm?articleid=410

The Taste of Childhood

Today, I went out with mum for a couple hours of shopping. It was too rush in the morning, hence I didn't have time for breakfast.

I thought it was good that this will reduce my calories intake today but it was not. Today, I am over, over, over!

We passed by a shop, which attracted my attention, which I thought it is a new eatery shop. But mum told me this is the shop that sells pig organs soup, which we used to visit 20+ year back. That time, we were staying in a rented wooden house, simple and happy family. :)

I still can remember clearly those day during my childhood, I used to follow my papa (my father) several times a week to visit the stall for the taste of rice and soup. Now, it is open in a shop (永成记猪杂汤饭), run by the uncle's children.

Today, I ordered the porridge for my lunch, still taste the same, tastes like my childhood time's memory.

We also ate the asam vegetables, the taste was just ordinary and I think it's not in the menu of the old days. Not as good as having a cup of kopi O ice.

After a walk, I ate some toasts with my 2nd booster, hazelnut white coffee.

During the preparation of dinner, I felt so much from my childhood lunch, so I want to cook a delicious dinner to my loved ones, especially my little Jer. I hope he will remember my good food too.

What is more simple than a bowl of fried rice with love? One of my good recipes tho.

I think I will come to immune and resist to "beautiful" food at one point during diet. However, I wasn't able to, when I looked and smelled the fragrance from these rice. I stole few bites as appetizer. Hehe.

Here comes my main course of the evening, I guess you may want to try it too. :) The pork fries definitely add stars to this dish.

OK, end of the day. Back to now......focus and continue my diet hobby tomorrow.

Good night!

Sunday is my tummy's Holiday

Today is Sunday, my tummy's holiday! No guilty feeling but had bonus meals, yeah!!

Breakfast - Bonus session has started, I made cheese oatmeal bread, some blueberries, added a piece of kit kat chocolate + yogurt drink. O chocolate?! I am definitely not chocolate fancy, this is like the 2nd time of this year.

Lunch - Another round of Father's day meal at Semenyih Fish Valley Restaurant, rueful but delicious.

I ate some bites of steamed fish, marmite chicken, rice, my favorite seafood clear tomyam soup, green dragon vegetables, coconut juice. Wow, spicy + fresh cold coconut juice were just perfect match!

Snack time was movie time. Went to watch Maleficent, a good movie! I specially like Angelina Jolie's make-over and style, evil looking fairy with kind heart. Special highlight is the movie themed song - Once Upon a Dream, like it! The movie is worth the ticket, worth my tummy's quota for the popcorn + hot Nescafe. Hehe

It was suppose to be a fattening dinner, but I tried to reduced the fattening level :P, made the boiled lettuce as main dish, ate some kungfu mee hoon, ended up with a cup of chrysanthemum ginseng tea.

I feel very satisfy today, think I am quite well prepared for further fighting tomorrow.

Ganbate!

Another Great Day!

Today is another great day out! Girls' day, groceries day, of course another carbo fighting day.

I would give myself a rating of 60% for today's diet, thanks and credits to my petpetkia and her mum for the yummy lunch + tong sui.

Breakfast was full, so Asian! :)

After breakfast, I need a little exercise. Went for a walk and did some groceries shopping with friend, definitely burnt some calories...

It was a great noon spent, girls' talk with never ending stories. The time seemed always not enough for us, to be continued.

Lunch was simple but it was exactly for me! Low carb and oil free salad. Love it!

Tea break was one of my favorite sweet porridge (mung bean + sweet potatoes + longan tong sui), tummy was never empty whenever visiting this friend, her mother is a great chef!

I thought I would skip dinner but it never happen. I had Penang rojak and asam kedondong drink, I assumed "spicy + sour = less fat"? :P.

No work-out day, only walking in the supermarket and talking the whole noon had taken away 0.9kg today. It's so good to have you, petpetkia as diet buddy -

fist bump!!
